Middlebury has such a good reputation for languages and our junior son would love to learn Chinese. Until now, I have been so disappointed that you had no high school program. Again, thanks.
We seek faculty and staff to be part of our language-immersion summer-camp community for middle and high school students in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish. Faculty, staff, and student campers adopt the Middlebury Language Pledge®, modified as needed for the age group and language level, to create a dynamic full-immersion environment.
Camp faculty and staff will be housed in campus dormitories. MMLA offers competitive salaries, plus room and board.

Senior Teachers are responsible for both formal academic and informal social and recreational activities. Classroom-setting teaching is just part of the program at MMLA and the faculty are involved in all camp activities — sports, drama, music, field trips, games, arts and crafts, etc. All Senior Teacher applicants should have native or near-native fluency in the language as well as direct teaching experience with middle and/or high school students. Summer camp experience is preferred.
The primary responsibilities of Teachers are leading classes and structured activities; interacting in the target language with student campers in each day’s activities (meals, recreational activities, and cultural events); and motivating student campers to speak, read, and write in their target language.
Requirements include speaking fluency in Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish; a college degree; age 21 or older; and teaching experience with middle and/or high school students.
