Why Learn a Language…When You Can Live It?

Information on this site describes the MMLA 2008 session. It remains posted in order to give browsers an understanding of our inaugural session. Details for the MMLA 2009 session will be posted this fall.

Take all the fun of summer camp. Add the adventure of experiencing a new culture. Blend in leaders who are among the world’s best language teachers. Mix in valuable guidance from an organization that leads the world in language immersion. Heat up for a few weeks in the summer and the result is…summer camp with a difference!

Middlebury-Monterey campers have all the fun of summer camp while creating a vibrant teenage language community. Be the best in our Chinese karaoke lip-synch, join the MMLA soccer World Cup or cheer for your team in Arabic, take salsa dance lessons or cook crêpes au chocolat. Improve your language skills—with others at your ability level—while having a lot of fun!

Why just learn a language...when you can live the language every day in a fun-filled, four-week summer camp?

Summer 2008 dates: June 28-July 26.

Faculty are responsible for both formal academic and informal social and recreational activities. Classroom-setting teaching is just part of the program at MMLA and the faculty are involved in all camp activities.

FRENCH

Four levels of French, from beginner to advanced, are offered at our Vermont and California campuses. At each site we revel in all the fun of summer camp—games and cookouts; great outdoor recreation; songs, drama and sports; small group projects and whole camp parades—while expanding our horizons to take advantage of French cultural festivals and create a mini-French environment all our own! Our French Directors and faculty come from the finest schools and are passionate about French language and culture…and having fun.
